    CPD and Conferences

    CPD

    We offer a wide range of different types of support for schools throughout the year, including in-person events and online webinars. We focus on teacher development and school improvement, to ensure that every child flourishes. For more information and to book your place at one of our many remote webinars and face-to-face conferences.  Here is our Support Offer Brochure for 2025/2026

    Training Series

    Our free training series have been designed to support leaders in strengthening a specific area of provision over the course of a year.

    Every module of each series will share current evidence and practical advice from subject experts.

    Following feedback from schools we work with, we have decided to offer these training series in-person for the 2025/26 academic year. These will be replicated in both London and Peterborough in order to maximise accessibility to the schools in our area.

    Delegates who sign up to a series will be expected to attend every session, and complete gap tasks in between modules. These tasks will support delegates to translate theory into practice in schools.

    In order to make these gap tasks meaningful, we recommend registering for a series that aligns with your school’s development plan.

    As the series will be running at the same time, leaders will only be able to register for one course per year. However, schools can send multiple delegates if they wish to take part in more than one series.

    Schools who complete a full training series will be eligible to claim £50 per session and up to £30 for travel per session after the final session.

    Conferences

    All conferences are free of charge. After attending, schools are also able to invoice the English Hub for up to £50 per person for supply cover and £30 per person in travel costs if a member of your senior leadership team attends (up to two people may attend the showcase) and your school meets any two of the following criteria:

    • lower than average percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in the Year 1 phonics screening check in 2024 (80%);
    • school leaders identifying the need for phonics to be prioritised
    • a decline in phonics outcomes
    • a higher than average proportion of pupils reading below age-related expectations;
    • a higher than average proportion of children eligible for pupil premium in the school;
    • Ofsted judgement that identifies the need for phonics to be prioritised;
    • a high proportion of groups considered hard to reach such as EAL pupils;
    • schools referred by local partners (e.g. NLEs, LAs, Opportunity Area teams).
